The number of people arrested in a multi-state dog fighting investigation has grown to 13.

Jennifer McDonald, of Fairburn, Georgia, was arrested last week in southern Mississippi on a conspiracy charge.

Court records show in April 2012 federal agents observed three people loading a dog into the back of an SUV and then drive from Lee County into Georgia. The vehicle was stopped by the Georgia Highway Patrol for a traffic violation and officers found a dead pit bull inside.

Authorities said McDonald was inside the car with co-defendant Carlton Tippens were inside the car.

Tippens and 11 others were arrested in late August.

An arraignment in Montgomery has not been scheduled yet for McDonald.
