Hernando teacher arrested for sex with minor

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested an ESE teacher from John D. Floyd K-8 in Spring Hill for having sex with a minor on Monday.

Police say 35-year-old Cynthia Lynn Herr recently told a co-worker that she was in a sexual relationship with a minor. The co-worker reported the information to school administrators, as required by law. That led to a criminal investigation.

The investigation began with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office because Herr lives in Citrus County. Citrus County investigators say they interviewed the victim, a 16-year-old male who said he was in a sexual relationship with Herr.

On Monday, Hernando County detectives interviewed Herr who admitted to picking up the victim and driving him to a motel in Hernando County where they had sex on August 24th.

Hernando detectives arrested Herr and charged her with four counts of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors. Her bond was set at $20,000.
