Emergency crews in Chapel Hill helped rescue a construction worker Wednesday who fell from a concrete pillar.
Officials said the Chapel Hill Fire Department responded to a reported fall just after 3:30 p.m. at 336 West Rosemary Street. Upon arrival, responders found a worker had fallen 10 feet from a concrete pillar onto the top floor of the building under construction.
Fire personnel were able to safely extricate the victim from the scene. The rescue took approximately 35 minutes.
The victim was transported to UNC-Hospitals for treatment.
