AU to hold community-wide electronics recycling event

Auburn University will host a free public electronics recycling and confidential document destruction event Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saugahatchee Square, 3700 Pepperell Parkway in Opelika.

According to a news release, "For more information about what kinds of electronic equipment and household appliances will be accepted, as well as guidelines for bringing documents for shredding, contact Joan Hicken at jlh0067@auburn.edu. Monetary donations and nonperishable food items will be collected on site to benefit the Food Bank of East Alabama."

Auburn University is a member of the East Alabama Recycling Partnership and Keep Opelika Beautiful.
