RALEIGH, N.C. -

A Fayetteville man accused of having an inappropriate relationship with his 12-year-old stepdaughter has been indicted on charges of taking indecent liberties with a child and sexual activity by a substitute parent.

Ike David Simmons, 37, was previously indicted on charges of first-degree sexual offense of a child, two counts of statutory rape, indecent liberties with a child and sex offense in a parental role. On Wednesday, he was indicted on the additional charges.

The charges are from incidents reported by a victim who was 12 years old at the time the relationship began, according to authorities.

An affidavit said Simmons began a sexual relationship with the girl in October 2009. The report reveals the victim told her mother on July 31 that she was having a sexual relationship with her stepfather.

Police said the victim said she traded nude photos with Simmons over the course of four years. The report also said Simmons used a cellphone to record their sexual acts.

Police said the sex acts took place in multiple jurisdictions in North Carolina. An affidavit lists Apex, Parkton and Cary as locations of the offenses.
