Emergency crews responded to the scene of a reported fire at the Hibernian Pub on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh late Thursday night.
Raleigh police had Glenwood Avenue blocked off in both directions while crews were on the scene.
The establishment was destroyed by a grease fire on Dec. 26, 2012 and rebuilding efforts have been underway for months.
A man working construction at the Hibernian told WNCN Today's Bianca Spinosa that the fire only affected a small area of the roof and did not cause much damage.
The worker told WNCN it looks like a piece of wood on the roof was left smoldering after some welding had been done earlier on Thursday and that's most likely what caused the fire.
