GREENVILLE, N.C. -

As of Wednesday, October 2nd, at 11 PM EDT, the National Hurricane Center downgraded "Jerry" to a tropical depression in the central Atlantic Ocean.

The maximum sustained winds were 35 mph.

Over the next few days, this system will continue to track toward the northeast into the cooler waters of the North Atlantic Ocean. The official forecast calls for "Jerry" to fall apart into a post-tropical area of low pressure. This system will not affect the United States through its life cycle.
