Boyfriend charged with murdering Harris County woman

MERIWETHER COUNTY, Ga. -

The boyfriend of a Harris County woman found dead last month has been charged in her murder.

Fifty-two-year-old Sylvester Sherman Jr. Was arrested for possession of a weapon shortly after Annie Belle Jarrett was found in a shallow grave in Meriwether County on Sept. 18.

The 62-year-old was reported missing from her Shiloh home on the morning of Sept. 17. The next day investigators received a tip that the victim was buried in a wooded area on Crawford Creek Rd.

Sherman is facing additional charges for murder and concealing the death and false imprisonment. He is currently being held in the Harris County Jail without bond.
