Christmas sign-up to begin soon for Valley Rescue Mission

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Parents who would like to sign-up to receive toys for their children from Valley Rescue Mission can now do so.

Valley Rescue Mission has announced this year's Christmas Holiday Assistance sign-up dates. Christmas toys and holiday food baskets in the chapel on the corner of 2903 Second Avenue and 29th Street, in Columbus, as follows:

October 1st through 4th (Tuesday – Friday)

October 7th through 11th (Monday – Friday)

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Working Parents Signup – (must bring proof of current employment)

October 5th and 12th (Saturday)

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In order to receive toys, parents must bring their children's Social Security or Medicaid cards, proof of/or lack of income, rent/mortgage receipts, and current utility bills. Grandparents can only sign up their grandchildren if they have legal custody documentation. Applicants are only eligible for assistance from one area helping organization. Toys are intended for children between the ages of newborn – 12.

Each year Valley Rescue Mission gives toys to approximately 1,200 area children and food bags to hundreds of families. For more information contact Valley Rescue Mission 706-322-8267.
