Tigers rested, healthy after bye week

AUBURN, Ala. -

Gus Malzahn said Auburn's first bye week came at a good time for the Tigers.

The head coach said his team focused on themselves for a week, improving what they do without having to worry about an opponent.

It also let the Tigers get healthy. Several players, including Opelika's Corey Grant, had been battling nagging injuries, but Malzahn says everybody is healthy now.

"[Tuesday was] the first day where we'll actually have our entire team go through practice, which is a very, very positive thing moving forward," Malzahn said.

Auburn will host Ole Miss Saturday in their third SEC contest of the year.

"Playing Ole Miss, they're a very talented team offensively and defensively," Malzahn said. "They're one of the programs on the rise. It's good that we're playing at home."

Kickoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT/7:00 p.m. ET.
