Just hours after Tom Clancy's death, local bookstores are re-stocking shelves and ordering additional copies of the best-selling author's most popular thrillers.
Clancy, known for his military and political thrillers, died Tuesday at the age of 66.
Some of Clancy's books could now become collector's items.
"If someone has an autographed copy, that's just his autograph, it's going to be a collector's item," says Kay Johnson with Page and Pallete in Fairhope. "It can be worth something as time goes on."
Clancy is best known for his books "The Hunt for Red October," "Clear and Present Danger," and "Patriot Games"- all which became hit films.
Clancy's literary characters also made the jump to digital and electronic entertainment- and are featured in several, popular video games.
Clancy's next book "Command Authority" was scheduled to be published December 3rd.
