Staying warm and dry

Mid-morning Wednesday: Stubborn low clouds remain in some areas Mid-morning Wednesday: Stubborn low clouds remain in some areas

With no major weather systems on the horizon, we'll continue to see dry weather, with temperatures creeping back to a bit above seasonal averages within a few days.

The combination of a strong high pressure dome centered over New England, and a surface low just offshore from the Carolinas will serve to keep winds brisk out of the east and northeast.  This will supply enough moisture to bring fair weather clouds daily, but not enough for any rain. Starting on Thursday, mostly sunny skies will dominate through the weekend.

WIth the northeastern high extending its influence deep into the southern states, frontal systems will remain well west of us while we remain dry.  By the middle of next week, there are signs of a pattern shift that could bring showers back to the area along with cooler temperatures.
