Calvary Christian School cancels class because weather is too nice

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Classes at Calvary Christian School are canceled Friday because the weather is too beautiful.

Headmaster Mr. Len McWilliams said the decision stems from a commitment he made to himself 25 years ago.

"In the late 1980's, I was calling school off one winter day because of the terrible weather. The thought occurred to me that it would be great to call school off some day because it was too beautiful a day to go to school. I decided that some day before retiring I would do it," Mr. McWilliams said.

McWilliams will retire after the 2013-2014 school year.

Families have been encouraged to plan and enjoy a special day just having fun with each other.
