Presidents Cup streaker says she wanted to have fun

Posted: Updated:
DUBLIN, OH (WFLA) -

The Presidents Cup was seen around the world, and so was the woman who ran nearly naked on the 18th hole at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Kimberly Webster, 23, told NBC4's Denise Alex that she had wanted to run past Tiger Woods, but ended up streaking for Steve Stricker.

"I thought that streaking for Stricker sounded great, so that's kind of what I ran with," she said.

She was a banquet worker at the tournament, and wore only patriotic stickers, a thong, and her grandmother's raincoat when she took off in front of thousands of people.

"I just slipped in between a group of gentlemen and just dropped (the raincoat), and as soon as the players were up about to tee off is when I just went running," she said.

American flag in hand, Kimberly streaked across the fairway, happy to be in the international spotlight.

"When I (searched the Internet for) top streakers of all time, it was all men, and I was like, 'Let's see what happens. Let's try and change this a little bit,'" she said.

Dublin police eventually caught up with her, and at the police department, officers gave her a sheet to cover up. She turned it into a toga and told police she just wanted to have some fun.

"I called my friend that's a police officer and I was like, 'What are my charges going to be? Am I going to be a sex offender for this? What am I going to do?' And actually, he said that he would pay for the fines and whatever my bail was if I did it," she said.

Kimberly was charged with disorderly conduct, which came with a $100 fine.

She said it was well worth the international fame, as she is now getting calls from TV shows around the world.

"I didn't see anyone's reactions. I just heard USA! USA!" she said.

Kimberly said the fine issued by police will be taken care of right away.
