ANGIER, N.C. -

The Harnett County Sheriff's Office says no charges have been filed against an Angier man who shot and killed his son-in-law.

Christian Lamar Griggs, 23, of Raleigh, was shot and killed by his father-in-law Saturday after the two men were involved in some sort of argument and threats were communicated.

Deputies were called to the home on N.C. 210 around 10:50 a.m. Saturday in response to a domestic disturbance. Six minutes after the initial call, the Harnett County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received another call from a man who said he had shot another man at the same address.

When deputies arrived at the home, the caller was present and the victim, identified as Griggs, was transported to Wake Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The shooter, who resides at the home, was Griggs' father-in-law.

The home belongs to Pat Chisenhall, a pastor at Abundant Life Worship Center in Angier, however it was not immediately known how or if the pastor was involved in the incident.

Sunday night, friends and neighbors of Griggs expressed shock and sadness at the NC State student's death. They say Grigg's father came by his apartment Sunday to take custody of his dog. Griggs lived alone, and had joint custody of a daughter, said friends.
