The Milligan women's volleyball team fell, 4-1, in Saturday's match-up against Reinhardt University.
In the first and second sets, Milligan failed to close a small gap and fell 25-22 and 25-21. Each team battled over a small lead, and even after a couple of Milligan runs, Reinhardt managed to hold on to their lead.
In the third set, Milligan saw the momentum shift to their favor as the Buffaloes powered their way to a 25-22 victory. However, Milligan struggled in the fourth set and came up short 25-16 and fell, 4-1.
Samantha Bruinius (Tinley Park, IL) led the Buffaloes offensively with 12 kills as well as defensively earning 13 digs. Kylie Whaley (Maryville, Tenn.) and Emily Linkous (Morristown, Tenn.) had 11 and 10 kills respectively. Kaitlyn Round (Billings, MT) contributed defensively with 12 digs and Jessica Davenport (Cleveland, Tenn.) earned 39 assists and six digs on the night.
Saturday's loss brings the Buffaloes record to 5-7 in the AAC and 10-17 overall.
The Buffaloes will travel to Dayton Tenn. Friday, Oct. 18, to face undefeated, Bryan College, in their next game. Game time is slated for 6:30 p.m.
