Phoebe Sumter hosts annual breast cancer awareness walk Sat.

AMERICUS, Ga. -

Phoebe Sumter Medical Center will host its 10th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Sat. Oct., 19th.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. in downtown Americus and the walk starts at 9 a.m. The walk will have three routes, all beginning and ending at Lenny's Farmer Market at 110 N Hampton Street.

Breast cancer survivor and TV & radio personality Ebony Steele, known for her role on the Rickey Smiley Morning Radio Show, will be the special guest.

General surgeon Kristin Collier, MD will be the keynote speaker. She is a member of Phoebe Sumter Surgical Associates. Dr. Collier's main focus is comprehensive care of female patients.

T-shirts for this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Walk are available for purchase at the Phoebe Sumter hostess desk. T-shirts sizes Youth Small through Adult XL are $12, XXL and 3X are $15 and 4X shirts can be pre-ordered for $20. All checks can be made payable to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
