Changes Ahead

Forecast map for Thursday P.M. Forecast map for Thursday P.M.

A cold front will arrive in the next couple of days, bringing a few changes in our weather and the first chance of rain in some time.

The front is producing a good deal of rain and a smattering of thunderstorms across the nation's midsection today.  The front will move east, and by Thursday morning should be located in Alabama, slowing down on the way to Georgia.  We'll have a chance for some showers out ahead of the front on Thursday, but coverage will not be widespread and amounts will be mostly light.

Behind the front, we'll see cooler air filter in on Friday and especially over the weekend.  If the boundary stalls just south of us, we could be set up for rain on Saturday; forecast models have been trending in that direction.

By Sunday, we should see some of our coolest morning lows of the season so far, and highs will be near or below normal in the 70s.
