RALEIGH, N.C. -

A woman who lives with the man charged in connection with a string of kidnappings and robberies in Raleigh turned him in to police after she noticed "evidence all over the house."

Walter Kevin Johnson, 28, was arrested Friday in connection with eight crimes that occurred between Sept. 22 and Oct. 8. Among a number of other charges, he faces nine counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of first-degree kidnapping and three counts of second-degree kidnapping.

In a 911 call released Tuesday, the unidentified woman said Johnson had "lately been acting really weird," adding that she wasn't sure if he was even employed anymore.

When asked by the dispatcher why she suspected the man to be the robbery suspect, the caller, who said she had a newborn in the home, said, "I suspect it because there is evidence all over the house."

She said that he'd been returning home at 2 a.m., claiming to have been at work.

The call came in Friday at 10:38 a.m., Johnson was stopped by Raleigh police on Glenwood Avenue near Pleasant Valley Road around 1:15 p.m.

Johnson, who is married with kids, was reportedly experiencing financial problems, which investigators are looking at as a possible motive for the robberies.

Recently, he owned an Internet marketing company called 1855 Media, which was headquartered in the Captrust tower in North Hills.

Johnson lives a couple blocks from Pleasant Valley Road, where many of the robberies happened.

Law enforcement will continue to investigate the incidents. Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said he expects more charges to be filed against Johnson. He also said there could be more arrests.
