PHENIX CITY, Ala. -

A Phenix City woman has died after a wrong way crash on U.S. 431 Thursday morning.

Around 6:20 a.m., a 2010 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided with a fully loaded logging truck.  WRBL News 3 media partner The Ledger-Enquirer identifies the driver of the Toyota as 43-year-old Stephanie Cooper of Phenix City.

Cooper was pronounced dead at the hospital from blunt-force trauma. The truck driver had minor injuries but was also taken to Midtown Medical Center for evaluation.

It was not immediately known why Cooper was on the wrong side of the road.

The roadway has been reopened but crews are working to cleanup the scene.
