Forte guilty in Columbus "Good Samaritan" case

A jury has found Donnie Forte guilty in the murder of Rev. Blanchard Thomas, WRBL News 3 media partner The Ledger-Enquirer reports. Forte has been sentenced to life without parole.

Forte, 55, shot and killed Thomas inside a sports utility vehicle parked under the Oglethorpe Bridge near Golden Park in March 2011.

Thomas was been with Forte and others looking for a man accused of raping a 19-year-old girl.
