Two Triangle companies that are right up I-40 from each other, SAS and Quintiles, are ranked among the best places to work for multinational companies, according to a new ranking by Great Place to Work.
SAS, based in Cary, is ranked No. 2 and Quintiles, off of I-40 in Durham, is ranked No. 18.
SAS has been on the list three straight years.
"Being on this list validates the hard work and effort SAS employees put into their jobs every day," said SAS CEO Jim Goodnight. "We have a work environment that allows people to do their best without unnecessary distractions so that they can be more creative and productive. It's one way we ensure we are delivering innovative software solutions to our customers."
Last year, SAS ranked No. 1 on the World's Best Multinational Workplaces list and No. 2 on the U.S. list.
To be eligible, companies must appear on five or more national Great Place to Work lists in the past year and have more than 5,000 employees worldwide, with at least 40 percent working outside the company's home country.
