Posted: Updated:
AUBURN, Ala. -

Two juveniles are charged with robbery in Auburn.

At around 10 p.m. Wednesday, the Auburn Police Division responded to the 200 Block of W. Longleaf Drive in reference to a "shots fired" complaint. The complainant told police that two persons, both known to him and both of whom were juveniles, entered the apartment and demanded property from the complainant.

He said one of the juveniles brandished a weapon while making the demands. An altercation ensued and shots were exchanged between the complainant and the suspects, after which the suspects fled.

Officers located the suspects shortly. They were transported to the East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Room for gunshot related injuries.

The suspects were identified as a 16- and 17-year-old. Both are from Opelika, Ala. The 16-year-old was treated and released for EAMC ER and transported to the Lee County Jail. The 17-year-old is expected to be transported to the Lee County Jail Thursday.

Both suspects are charged with Robbery 1st Degree; bond was set for $100,000 each. Police say the case is still under investigation and may result in further arrests.
