Raleigh man beaten with bottle dies

A man attacked with a bottle Oct. 7 has died and the man charged with attacking him remains in jail, the Raleigh Police said Friday.

Raleigh Police officers responded to an assault call in the 900 block of E. Hargett Street Oct. 7.

At about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Raleigh Police got a call about a disturbance involving a suspect with a bottle pursuing a victim. Officers arrived to find Curtis Ray Woodard, 64, injured. He was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries.

Woodard died Wednesday, police said.

Officers, using a K9 team, detained Britis Andruce Previlon, 31, a short time later  on S. State Street.

Previlon was charged with murder on Friday. He was previously charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery, and resisting delaying or obstructing a law enforcement officer.
