Study: Friend influence you eating habits

Posted: Updated:

If you go out to eat with a friend who makes unhealthy food choices, chances are you will too.

According to an University of Illinois study of an Oklahoma restaurant, researchers found that over three months people who dined in groups tended to choose items in the same menu categories.

Researchers say one takeaway from this study is that people were happier if they were making similar choices to those sitting around them.

The research suggests that you should always order first because the first person is the only one who truly gets what they want.
