1 shot at North Carolina A&T State University

Posted: Updated:

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Officials of North Carolina A&T State University say one person was shot on campus, prompting a brief lockdown.

The university's official website said the wounded person was brought to the hospital and that no suspects had been identified.

The website later issued an update saying the lockdown had been lifted, but added that "for increased safety" the campus police department recommended everyone stay indoors.

A call to the campus police went immediately to voicemail. A woman who answered the telephone at the Greensboro Police Department said all information would have to come from campus police.
