Congressman Sanford Bishop hosting summit for military families

FORT BENNING, Ga. -

Congressman Sanford Bishop, Jr. is hosting a Military Family Summit Wed., Nov. 6 at the National Infantry Museum at Fort Benning.

The goal is to connect military families with members of Congress, officials from the Department of Defense and personnel form numerous military family support organizations to discuss pressing issues impacting service members and their families.

Military families will be able to participate in panel discussions to discuss issues faced on a daily basis, such as family health, resiliency, spouse employment and education, military child education, transition assistance, retirement, benefits, and financial readiness for the future.

Mrs. Katie McMaster, the spouse of MG H.R. McMaster at Fort Benning, will be in attendance.

The doors open at 7 a.m. and the event runs from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
