Ft. Benning hosts veteran ceremony Thursday

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Fort Benning and the Maneuver Center of Excellence will honor veterans during a ceremony 10 a.m. Nov. 7 at Soldiers Field behind the National Infantry Museum.

The Veterans Day ceremony will be held in conjunction with 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment's basic training graduation.  The U.S. Armor School Commandant, Col. Leopoldo Quintas, will give remarks to commemorate those who have served in the nations military; followed by a laying of a wreath, a three firing volley and the playing of Taps.

The event is open to the public.
