Dana Kessler and Timothy Robinson were sentenced a day after being convicted of murdering Jeffrey Morgan at the Sands Apartment complex in Columbus in April of 2012, WRBL News 3 media partner The Ledger-Enquirer reports.
Kessler was sentenced to life without parole, the newspaper reports. He was sentenced to an additional five years for using a firearm to commit a crime. Robinson was sentenced to life with parole plus give years probation.
Investigators say 25-year-old Kessler and 20-year-old Robinson met Morgan in a parking lot, on the pretense of a drug deal. But police say they had other plans: a robbery.
The jury deliberated for five hours.
A third suspect, Edward Love, will face charges in Russell County at a later date.
