Smithfield convenience store robbed at gunpoint

SMITHFIELD, N.C. -

Smithfield police is looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery at the Kangaroo Convenience Store on North Brightleaf Blvd.

The robbery occurred on Nov. 5 around 3:50 a.m. Police said the suspect entered the store armed with a gun and with his face covered with a bandana.

The suspect demanded money from the clerk and fled the scene with an unknown amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 6 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 170 to 180 pounds. The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie with a "Senior 2011" logo on the front.

Police said the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored four-door sedan.
