Update: girl found safe after being reported missing when car was stolen

COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Columbus police confirmed a three-year-old child has been found safe after she was reported missing when a car was stolen.

The incident happened late Saturday night just before midnight, according to investigators. Officials said the child's father went inside a convenience store in the area of Floyd Road and Forest Road and when he came out his car was gone.

The vehicle is described as a 2013 Toyota Corolla silver or gray in color with Georgia license plate PQH 2460.

His daughter has been found safe, according to police.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle is asked to call Columbus police at 706-653-3400.
