Luckily, officers found 12-year-old Dana Thompson and 6-year-old Jack Creech just before the sun went down. Police confirm they are both Winterville neighbors.

The Greenville Police Department, Winterville Police Department, Pitt County Sheriif's Office and Sate Highway Patrol assisted in the search.

Police tell us they found the children using infrared cameras located in search helicopters.
