CSU Soccer makes NCAA Tourney

COLUMBUS, GA -

The Columbus State women's soccer team is going to the NCAA Tournament for the 8th time. They found out Monday when the brackets were revealed.

The Cougars are the 4th seed in the southeast region. They will play Clayton State on Friday. The game will be played at Wingate University in North Carolina.

If Columbus State can beat Clayton State, they will play Wingate in the next round. The Cougars know they have to win or their season is done.

"In all we graduated and lost 10 starters from last year's team," said head coach Jay Entlich. "I'm really proud of this group of players and I hope it shows that anything can happen with any group that you bring in. I'm just super proud of the kids and their belief in each other that we can be successful."

"We are super excited that we get to have another match with Clayton State. We felt that we weren't up to our potential in that game. It is really exciting that we get another chance to hopefully put them away," said forward Chelsea Person.

The Cougars have seen Clayton State once this season. CSU lost 3-0.

Round 1 of the playoffs is on Friday.
