AUBURN, Ala. -

The 2013 Kevin Bell Memorial Blast & Cast raised $6000 in proceeds benefiting Auburn Veterans Committee Scholarship recipients.

The area sporting event was held in Waverly, Ala. on Saturday, Nov. 2. Event organizer Andy Lamar, Jr. presented the event's proceeds to the Auburn Veterans Committee on Monday at the Auburn Veterans Memorial.

The fundraiser featured a 1.5 mile, all-terrain walking course made up of 16 stations of sporting clays, tactical fire arms shooting, knife throws and tomahawk throws.

Established by Mayor Bill Ham, Jr., the Auburn Veteran's Committee coordinates annual events to honor veterans, including the Annual Mayor's Memorial Day Breakfast and the Annual Veterans Day Ceremony. The Auburn Veteran's Committee established the Auburn Veterans Scholarship Foundation which provides scholarships to local veterans attending a local, post-secondary educational institution.
