A two-year-old girl and a 14-month-old boy are dead after their Georgetown home caught fire early Saturday. It happened on Winding Way Blvd.

Quitman County Sheriff Billy Joe Foster said an electrical fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. in the children's bedroom. The father was able to save his oldest child, a 4-year-old girl, but fire and smoke prevented him from saving the two younger children.

Neighbor Marcus Peterson said his sister first alerted him to the blaze and he went outside to help.

The community is calling for donations to help the Barber family. Donations can be made by visiting or calling Farmers State Bank and asking for the Barber family account.
