GREENVILLE, N.C. - Investigators say a Monday morning apartment fire was intentionally set.

It happened around 7:20 a.m. at a complex on Cedar Creek Road. That's off of B's Barbecue Road in Greenville.

Crews responding to the scene found smoke showing from the two-story apartment building, which houses 12 units. They extinguished the fire. Its origin is unknown at the current time.

All occupants of the building made it out safely. One was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Pitt County Red Cross also responded to the scene to assist those affected by the fire.

Fire investigators say the fire was intentionally set within apartment #9. They've turned the criminal investigation over to Greenville Police.
