FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police arrested two men wanted in connection with a robbery at a Red Lobster Saturday night.

The incident took place at the Red Lobster at 533 N. McPherson Church Road just before midnight.

Police said two suspects, 20-year-old Smith Paul Merinord and 27-year-old Alan Rashad McNeil, deceived an employee to open the door. When they were inside, Merinord and McNeil demanded money from the employee.

Off-duty officers responded to the robbery and apprehended the suspects in a CarMax parking lot.

Merinord and McNeil are charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Merinord was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center and received a $500,000 secured bond on the above charges and in conjunction with the armed robbery of the Advanced Auto Parts store on Nov. 2 where a female employee was raped.

McNeil received a $75,000 bond in connection with the robbery at Red Lobster.
