Columbus High softball player signs with Missouri

Posted: Updated:

Columbus High star softball player Sydney Sprague signed her letter of intent Monday to play softball at the University of Missouri.

She says the coaches at Missouri impressed her when she visited campus.

Sprague's parents and teammates were on hand to watch as she officially became a Missouri Tiger.

"My whole life, it has been my dream ever since I was little to play at the highest level you can play...which is division one," Sprague said. "I wanted to stay in the SEC. When I went on my visit,  it was a great Christian environment. It made me feel like I was home even though I'm 12 hours away."

Sprague had a .410 batting average and six home runs on the season. She had 43 hits in her senior season at Columbus High.
