Opelika police need help finding theft suspect

OPELIKA, Ala. -

Opelika police need the public's help identifying a suspect in a theft case.

On the evening of Oct. 1 a woman reported losing her bank debit card in the parking lot of Target in Tiger Town around. The victim returned to several stores in an attempt to locate her lost debit card.

The victim was later contacted by Target employees who said her card had been located. The victim then checked the balance on her account and realized the card had been used at Old Navy in Opelika as well as several other businesses in the Tiger Town area to make purchases. The card had also been attempted to be used at several other businesses however the transactions were declined.

Investigators were able to obtain surveillance photos of the individual suspected of using the debit card at Old Navy. She is described as a heavy set white female with graying hair and an orange/red Harley Davidson shirt. She is wanted for Fraudulent Use of A Credit or Debit Card and Theft of Property.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is urged to call the Opelika Police Department Investigative Services Division at (334) 705-5220 or they may remain anonymous by calling the Secret Witness Hotline at (334) 745-8665.
