Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers opens new donation center

LaGRANGE, Ga. -

Donating just got easier with the opening of Goodwill's new Attended Donation Center located in Saw Mill Crossing; this location is for donations only. November 22nd through November 24th, donors and community members can enter to win a brand new tablet if they donate or stop by the new location on Roanoke Road in LaGrange.

At the donation center, donor greeters provide the ultimate customer service by meeting donors to help with unloading their gently used items. This donation acceptance method provides an opportunity to thank donors face-to-face.

Kim Cantrell, Goodwill's Senior Vice President of Mission says, "We are proud to offer another way to greet and thank those that help us provide skills and jobs to the community through their donations."

After an item is donated, Goodwill sells it to the surrounding community in a Goodwill retail store. In turn, the funds are then used to provide training and job opportunities to those that need it most. Thanks to the sales of gently used donated items, in 2012, GWISR was able to place 3,507 people into employment and served 27,997 people across our region.

This center is located in Saw Mill Crossing at 1861 Roanoke Road, Unit J LaGrange, GA 30240. Donation hours are Monday- Saturday 9am-8pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm.
