Barney's profiling investigation blames NYPD

Posted: Updated:

Barney's does not racially profile its customers. That's according to an internal review performed by the store.

The investigation revolves around a pair of incidents in which black customers were stopped by New York Police and incorrectly accused of credit card fraud.

Officials with Barney's say employees did not target two shoppers because of their race.

A lawyer representing a woman filing a civil suit against the store says Barney's is performing quote "damage control."

No comment from the NYPD.
