No national release for the McRib

Posted: Updated:

McDonald's made an announcement Thursday that has a lot of McRib lovers on edge.

The chain will not roll-out the menu favorite in all restaurants this year as they have in the past.

The company will instead leave it up to local franchise groups to decide if and when to sell the sandwich.

In the past, the McRib has been a big seller to end out the year.

A company spokesperson said McDonald's has other national priorities this year.
