Hope Mills murder victim's family hoping for help in case

HOPE MILLS, N.C. -

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is investigating a murder just outside the Hope Mills town limits.

Deputies said Christopher Jackson, 26, of Bammel Drive, Fayetteville, was found dead Friday night inside a home in the 4100 block of Hattie Grey Avenue in Hope Mills.

Jackson's aunt Lorraine Hadley and a woman who lives near Hattie Grey Avenue say Jackson was renovating the home where he was killed. They say he was stabbed to death.

The sheriff's office has not released any details on how Jackson was murdered or if they have any suspects in custody.

Hadley said she could not image who killed her nephew or why.

"Everybody that ever came across him had to love him," she said. "You just could not help but love him. He was just so genuine, so honest and so good."

She said Jackson has a lot of family members and friends who are hoping detectives get the information they need to find who was responsible for Jackson's murder. In an effort to get people talking about the case she has posted a photo of him on her facebook page with the words "Justice for Jackson" on it.

"[It's] just so we can get the information out there," Hadley explained. "So anybody with any information - regardless of how small or minute they think it might be - to call the sheriff's department and please give them the information that they have.

Jackson's body has been sent to the Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy. 

The investigation is ongoing. 

Deputies are asking anyone with information regarding Jackson's death to please call the Sheriff's Department at (910) 323-1500.
