Georgia cruises, Murray hurt in win over Kentucky

ATHENS, Ga. -

Georgia cruised to a 59-17 win over Kentucky on senior night, but lost one of their seniors in the process.

On a second quarter interception, Aaron Murray was hit low and had to be helped off the field with an injured left knee. After the game, Mark Richt said he did not know the extent of Murray's injury, but that he was taken to a hospital for an MRI.

Richt also said he and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo were pulling Murray from the game before that drive, but the quarterback "pleaded" to get back in.

"It would be tough for Murray to play this week," Richt said afterwards. Georgia travels to Georgia Tech on Nov. 30.

Before the injury, Murray was 18-of-23 passing for 183 yards and four touchdowns. Todd Gurley led Bulldog rushers with 77 yards on eight carries. He also caught five passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior walk-on-turned-scholarship receiver Rhett McGowan led Georgia receivers with seven catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Fellow senior Arthur Lynch caught four passes for 42 yards and two scores.

The win moves Georgia to 7-4 (5-3 SEC). The regular season wraps up in Atlanta against Georgia Tech.
