Sony files patent for 'Smartwig'

We've got smartphones, smartwatches and smartglasses, now Sony is planning a new kind of technology Smartwigs.

The Japanese electronics company has filed a patent for the device, which will use sensors to detect everything from blood pressure to brain waves.

In its filing, Sony said the wearable wig could be used in a number of practical ways, such as helping blind people navigate without any extra assistance.

The company said the device could also come in handy for the video gaming industry.
