MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. -

Four days after an EF2 tornado hit eastern North Carolina. People are still trying to pick up the pieces.

On Saturday, The American Red Cross volunteers continued to canvass areas damaged by the tornado.

Red Cross eastern North Carolina Regional Chief Executive Officer, Bill Brent, says they hope to have disaster evaluations completed by Sunday.

“They do the street by street drive. House by house assessment. Looking for pockets like this one to make sure that there is no populations that have been missed and there is no population that has not been taken care of,” said Brent.

Volunteers say they discovered at least four more homes with major damage.

The Red Cross will be meeting county officials and other local charities to come up with a long-term plan to help the tornado victims on Monday.
