    An Alabama man who went to the hospital for a routine circumcision says doctors mistakenly amputated his penis. Johnny Lee Banks Jr. of Birmingham and his wife, Zelda Banks, filed the lawsuit Tuesday.

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) -

A 17-year-old boy is fighting for his life after a crash in Kingsport that happened around 4:00 p.m. Saturday on Lynn Garden Drive at the intersection of Echo Avenue. 

Due to the extent of the injuries in the crash, the Kingsport Police department Traffic Unit was notified to investigate the collision.

The following is a release from the Kingsport Police Department:

 "The investigation revealed a 1989 GMC Jimmy had been traveling eastbound on Echo Avenue. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Jimmy pulled into the path of a 2009 Pontiac G6 that was traveling southbound on Lynn Garden Drive. The GMC Jimmy was struck in the driver side door and the driver suffered life threatening injuries. He was transported to Holston Valley Hospital by Sullivan County EMS where he is listed in critical condition. The driver is 17 years of age therefore the Police Department will not be releasing his name at this time. Elesha Byrd, the driver of the Pontiac G6 also suffered injuries in the crash and was transported by Sullivan County EMS to Holston Valley Hospital. She is listed in stable condition. Based on the preliminary investigation, alcohol or speed do not appear to be factors in this collision. The investigation is ongoing by the Traffic Division."
