Georgia Southwestern State University Athletic Director Jaclyn Donovan plans to resign at the end of the fall semester. That announcement comes from GSW President Kendall Blanchard.
Retired athletic director and basketball coach Randolph Barksdale will serve as interim athletic director.
In making the announcement, Blanchard said, "Director Donovan played a key role in the evolution of our athletic program from NAIA to NCAA Division II."
Donovan will serve on the faculty for the Department of Health and Human Performance and the School of Business Administration in the spring.
Donovan began serving as athletic director in November 2008 after serving as associate athletic director. She began work at GSW
in 2004 as the head athletic trainer. During her tenure as AD, the Hurricanes made improvements to all of the GSW athletic facilities. Men's basketball, women's cross-country and golf all qualified for NCAA Division II post-season play.
