Filtered sunshine then clouds and rain this weekend

This weekend's rain could give us 1-2" widespread with locally heavier amounts. We are only 2.04" from seeing the 5th wettest year on record, so it'll be close. The rain will begin Saturday afternoon and last through the early morning hours of Sunday. Colder, drier air filters over us Sunday. A reinforcing shot of cold air arrives late Monday, setting the stage for a chilly end to 2013. The first Thursday/Friday of 2014 could bring another chance of rain and some cooler temperatures.

Friday: Clouds increase later. High: 58.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy. Lows near 37.

SATURDAY: Showers chances go up in the afternoon. Highs near 53.

Saturday Night: Rain likely. Lows dip to near 48.

SUNDAY:  Morning rain will give way to a mix of sun and clouds. High: 60

Sunday Night: Partly to mostly cloudy. Lows near 39

MONDAY: Dry front works through late. Highs climb to near 58

Monday night: Mostly clear. Low: 33

New Year's Eve Day:  Sunny. High near 53

New Year's Eve Night: Mostly clear. Lows near 31.

New Year's Day: Mostly sunny early, clouds increase later. Highs near 55.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows near 37

Thursday:  Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain. Highs near 60.

Thursday Night: Few showers possible. Lows dip near 41.
