Man sought by Auburn police arrested in Texas

A man previously sought by Auburn, Alabama police is under arrest in Frisco, Texas. In a News Release, the Auburn Police Division announced the December the 27  arrest of Landon R. McGill, 22. McGill is wanted for one count of Drug Trafficking and three counts of Possession of Controlled Substance related to an ongoing investigation by Auburn Police.  He is awaiting extradition back to Alabama pending a hearing in the State of Texas.

The Auburn Police Division and the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force are also attempting to locate Mark A. Warnock Jr, age 26 who is wanted in reference to a bond revocation related to previous drug charges of Distribution of a Controlled Substance as well as additional charges of Possession of Controlled Substance.  He is currently out on a $31,000 bond.

During the Calendar year of 2013 investigations initiated by the Auburn Police Division have resulted in the seizure of over 75 pounds of Marijuana, 3 Kilograms of Cocaine, approximately 5000 pharmaceutical pills, 13 motor vehicles, numerous firearms and over $400,000 in U.S. currency.  Many of these investigations were combined efforts involving the Lee County Sheriff’s office, Opelika Police Department, as well as other Federal and State agencies. Together with the FBI, members of the Auburn Police Narcotic’s section spearheaded an investigation that led to multi-state raids resulting in the arrest of 12 individuals and the rescue of 367 dogs, held for fighting, the second largest seizure of animals in U.S. History.    

“I am proud of the efforts of our personnel; the success of these cases has been heavily linked to the close working relationships of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the Lee County area,” said Auburn Police Chief Paul Register.
